I can hardly believe the year is almost over so soon. For the next few weeks, we’re going to focus on Christmas mixed drinks. With that in mind, let me introduce you to the Five Layer Cookie, otherwise known as the Christmas Cookie Cocktail. Combining the flavors of dark rum, gingerbread liqueur, hazelnut, and Irish cream, this Christmas Cookie drink recipe is one that you won’t soon forget.
Christmas is near, and many people are thinking about making peppermint mixed drinks for their parties. Inspired by other shot recipes, I decided to combine white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and crème de cacao in a shooter I like to call the Peppermint Kiss. The Winter Solstice is the day when the Sun is lowest on the horizon at its peak, marking the midpoint of Winter. The Winter Solstice usually drops on the 21st or 22nd of December here in the Northern Hemisphere. To mark this annual occasion, we’re going to break out a drink recipe we first covered in 2011, the Winter Solstice. Fitting right in with the rest of the holiday drinks, this cocktail features tones of citrus and pomegranate.
Christmas is the king of Western holidays. Not only does Christmas get all the attention, and mark the culmination of another year, but it also has the widest variety of specialty cocktails. Today, I’m going to investigate another Christmas champagne cocktail, the Mistletoe. The slightly reddish hue automatically makes you think, “Ah, this drink fits in with the red and green of Christmas”.
